EUROPE–Silvergate Media has unveiled a raft of new and expanded fan experiences in the U.K. for the preschool adventure property “Octonauts.”

Most recently, Silvergate Media launched a new initiative with the Swimming Teachers Association, which will see the companies team up with Virgin Active to roll out the “Octonauts” Swimming Program for children. The new program will see young swimmers work toward achieving different character-branded swim badges for a variety of skills as well as build self-confident and strength in the water with Captain Barnacles and friends.

The “Octonauts” Swimming Program is now available at all 26 Virgin Active Family Clubs in the U.K. as well as at 138 additional leisure clubs.

Furthermore, Silvergate has renewed its partnership with Sea Life through 2019. Under the terms of the agreement, Sea Life will continue to bring the show’s core themes of science, conservation and teamwork to life via branded events, meet and greets and activity sessions throughout its attractions in the U.K.

In addition, earlier this year, U.K. Sea Life centers launched “Octonauts Octo-Glow Explorers,” which allows kids to take part in a range of interactive activities to discover how creatures of the deep use light to hide from predators, attract their prey and talk to each other. The Sea Life center in Birmingham is also home to an immersive 4D theater experience.

“The high level of brand awareness and fan loyalty that we have for ‘Octonauts’ in the U.K. enables us to form the fantastic partnerships that we have to date,” says Lisa Macdonald, vice president, consumer products and TV sales, EMEA, Silvergate Media. “It’s hugely important that we keep the brand fresh for its dedicated fan-base and we’re therefore delighted to be seeing young fans enjoying real life water adventures with ‘Octonauts’ across the U.K.”
