

The contest will give fans and filmmakers of all ages from around the world the chance to create original, SpongeBob-inspired short films for a chance to win a cash prize and trip to a screening event in Hollywood, Calif.
The call for entries opened Monday and will run through June 28.
A panel of judges will select the top 10 entries in two categories (under-18 and 18-and-over), with fans voting on the winner from each group.
“SpongeBob is a global icon and beloved by people of all ages,” says Pam Kaufman, chief marketing officer, Nickelodeon Group. “We’re excited to launch a competition that lets fans around the world create compelling short films that showcase the positivity and optimism that SpongeBob brings to audiences everywhere.”
