MIPTV: Toei Presents New 'Saint Seiya' Series

Toei Animation has debuted the latest iteration of its successful "Saint Seiya" franchise, "Saint Seiya Soul of Gold," at MIPTV this week in Cannes, France.

Toei Animation has debuted the latest iteration of its successful "Saint Seiya" franchise, "Saint Seiya Soul of Gold," at MIPTV this week in Cannes, France.

“We have set out to challenge ourselves creatively with 'Soul of Gold,'” says Ryuji Kochi, general manager, Toei Animation Europe. “Our latest chapter pushes the envelope with its memorable story, stunning visuals and captivating music. We are delighted to introduce soul of gold to audiences around the world and appreciate their continued support of this nearly 30-year old franchise.”

 The series had its broadcast debut the week before on Bandai in Japan and Daisuki in Europe (excluding France and French-speaking European territories).

Additional, the French group AB has acquired both TV and DVD rights to the series and broadcast the original version subtitled in French. Meanwhile, online platform Crunchyroll acquired the VOD rights to the series for online broadcast in Europe (except in France and all the French-speaking European territories). The series will also air on a dedicated YouTube channel in Italy.
