MIPCOM: Zodiak's ‘Zack & Quack’ to Travel the Globe

The U.K.’s Channel 5 has acquired all 52 x 11 episodes of Zodiak Kids' new children’s show “Zack and Quack” along with a slew of other broadcasters.

The U.K.’s Channel 5 has acquired all 52 x 11 episodes of Zodiak Kids' new children’s show “Zack and Quack” and will debut the series on its Milkshake! programming block this fall.

The deal is part of a raft of sales for the 3D animated preschool series, which made its international debut at MIPCOM last year and launched on Nickelodeon U.K. in February and Nickelodeon U.S. in April.

Produced by Zodiak Kids’ U.K. production company The Foundation in partnership with creators QQD Limited and South Korean animation studio High 1 Entertainment, “Zack & Quack” follows the adventures of a boy named Zack and his best friend, a young duck called Quack.

In addition to Channel 5, multiple broadcasters across Europe have also signed up for the show including Discovery Italy for its Frisbee block, Clan TVE (Spain), TG4 (Ireland), MTVA (Hungary), NRK (Norway) and PlusPlus (Ukraine).

Broadcasters cross the Middle East, Africa and Asia have also added the show including e.tv (Africa), MBC (the Middle East), Mediacorp (Singapore), PTS (Taiwan), Horng En (Taiwan) and Thai PBS (Thailand).

“We are delighted to announce this stellar line up of broadcasters around the world,” says Karen Vermeulen, senior vice president global sales and coproduction, Zodiak Kids. “‘Zack & Quack’ made a fantastic debut in the U.S. earlier this year, and we look forward to it progressing around the globe.”

Zodiak Kids owns worldwide distribution, licensing and merchandising rights to “Zack & Quack.”
