‘Magic Roundabout’ Heads to China

Media-Participations and Magic Rights have partnered with CCTV Kids Channel in China to begin airing the CG animated series “The Magic Roundabout” on the network’s noontime block.

French television series expands into the Chinese market with programming and a developing licensing program.

Media-Participations and Magic Rights have partnered with CCTV Kids Channel in China to begin airing the CG animated series “The Magic Roundabout” on the network’s noontime block.

“The Magic Roundabout” follows the everyday life of Florence and her friends Dougal, Ermintrude, Dylan and the magic spirit Zebeede, and is a modern-day remake of ‘60s and ‘70s stop-motion animation based on the stories by Serge Danot.

The series currently airs on France 3, France 5, Gulli, ZDF, YLE, ABC in Australia, Radio-Canada, Al Jazeera and Netflix. It will also be available on Youku, a video streaming site in China.

Furthermore, Beijing-based 62 Licensing brokered the deal and will also launch a licensing program for the French series in the Chinese market.
