Hit Entertainment has teamed up with the Minnesota Children’s Museum to develop the first-ever traveling exhibit featuring Thomas & Friends.

The exhibit will begin its 10-year tour of children’s museums around the country at the Minnesota Children’s Museum in June 2014.

The STEM-based (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) exhibit will feature a 1,500-square-foot version of the Island of Sodor where children will be able to climb aboard a full-size model of Thomas the Tank Engine, become conductors and engineers as they build their own trains and race them along a giant track and work together to sort and load cargo and tend to engines in Tidmouth Sheds.

Fisher-Price, which like Hit Entertainment is a subsidiary of Mattel, will be the presenting sponsor for the exhibit.

“We are delighted to partner with Minnesota Children’s Museum to bring the magic of Thomas & Friends to life and offer families a new holistic and educational brand experience,” says Sid Mathur, vice president, the Americas, Hit Entertainment. “We look forward to developing a premier, interactive experience for Thomas fans around the country where kids can have fun while learning about everything from how engines roll on the rails to the power of teamwork.”
