Halfbrick Studios is planning to bring its hit app “Fruit Ninja” to TV screens with help from The People’s Republic of Animation, which it acquired earlier this year, and Cake.

Cake has recently come on board to help PRA develop the 52x11 series, which will be targeted to 6- to 11-year-olds.

“Developing a truly great kids’ series, whether based on a hit game like ‘Fruit Ninja’ or not, is no mean feat,” says Sam White, chief executive officer, PRA. “For this reason, we chose to work with Cake because they bring expertise, relationships and an excellent track record to the project.”

“‘Fruit Ninja’ has millions of fans and followers around the world. Getting the opportunity to help develop linear content to extend their Fruit Ninja experience is a unique challenge and one we are proud to have been chosen for,” says Tom van Waveren, chief executive officer and creative director, Cake. “PRA have been central to visualizing Fruit Ninja until now, and we look forward to working with them to take this property to new places.”
