Disney Channel has optioned the new tween book series from Scholastic, Upside-Down Magic, for the development of an original TV show.

The first book of the series will be released on Sept. 29.

Upside-Down Magic follows the misadventures of Nory, the youngest in a family of elite magicians, who finds herself relegated to a class for misfits after one magical mishap too many. There Nory meets a group of kids with equally wonky powers. Surrounded by people who believe in her, she starts to question if her so-called "upside-down magic" might actually be right side up after all.
