The Jim Henson Company’s animated children’s series “Dinosaur Train” has signed a raft of new licensees in key European territories ahead of this year’s BLE.

“We have an incredibly strong licensing program across Europe, where 'Dinosaur Train' airs on major TV networks such as Nickelodeon U.K., Disney Channel Germany, France TV and RTVE Clan in Spain,” says Richard Goldsmith, executive vice president, global distribution and international consumer products, The Jim Henson Company. “We work with exceptional licensing agents in these countries who have done a great job delivering top-quality products, and with over 35 licensees in Western Europe alone, and new toy products from Tomy and educational learning titles from VTech debuting in key markets for the holiday season, we anticipate a strong holiday season at retail for the brand.”

Newly signed agreements and new products for “Dinosaur Train” include:

  • Russia: C-Trade for publishing and toys and Gruppa Tovarischey for back-to-school products. Additionally, more than 200 new “Dinosaur Train” products will hit the market, including outdoor seasonal toys and plush, back-to-school items including backpacks and stationery, and a wide array of published goods. To cater to local interests, “Dinosaur Train” will be featured on a YouTube-branded channel that will launch this year, first in Russia and then in expanded territories.

  • Germany: Kosmos for travel games. New products launching this fall include magazines from Panini, partyware from Papstar, housewares from Herding and plush from Huenec. Other key partners in the territory include Universal Music for audio books and Nelson Verlag for sticker books.

  • The U.K.: New agreements have been signed with Gemma International for greetings cards and partyware and Play by Play for plush. Existing partners include Aykroyds for nightwear, Character World for bedding, Smith & Brooks for outerwear and Redan for publishing.

  • Spain: New “Dinosaur Train” products are under development with Educa for puzzles, Montichelvo for back-to-school, Hot Shots for candy and cookies, and United Labels for apparel and accessories. Other partners include Panini for publishing, Saica Toys for outdoor, Musicales Reig for musical toys, and Play by Play for plush.
