Cartoon Network has teamed up with the High Speed Rail Corporation in Taiwan, where it is the No. 1 kids’ channel, to launch a new branded railway experience on the island’s train network.

In a world first for the network, the branded train will run along the west coast of Taiwan, from the national capital, Taipei, to the southern city of Kaohsiung.

For a 14-month period, the train will be wrapped in a specially designed Cartoon Network skin. The train also features interior branding, Cartoon Network games for kids to play on board and water bottles and model trains that are available for purchase, as well as announcements made by Jake the dog from “Adventure Time” and postcards that kids can send to their families and friends.

The train was unveiled Sunday in Taipei where kids from under-privileged backgrounds were invited to be among the first passengers.

“To see Cartoon Network’s famous characters splashed on the inside and outside of this remarkable train, actually see our franchises come to life on such a huge-scale project is truly impressive and exciting,” says Melissa Tinker, vice president, Cartoon Network Enterprises, South East Asia Pacific. “Not only is the design unique, we’ve customized a range of on-board items to keep kids entertained during their journey.”
