Popeye Scores Comic Album Series in Italy

RCS Mediagroup is on board to publish the first of the 30-part series this weekend.

EUROPE–King Features has partnered with RCS Mediagroup to launch a 30-part comic album series featuring Popeye.

Premium Licensing, King Features’ Italian licensing agent, brokered the deal.

The new comic albums will be published as purchase-with-purchase inserts to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a daily newspaper in Italy.

The first comic album of the 30-part Popeye series will debut this weekend, with point-of-purchase promotional displays planned for kiosks in Italian train stations in Milan, Venice and Rome.
