King Features and Moods of Norway have teamed up to launch a men’s apparel collection based on the classic cartoon character Popeye.
The new collaboration will include long- and short-sleeve t-shirts, sweatpants, polo shirts, shorts, boxers and socks. It will also feature coordinated pajama bottoms and nightcap sets in a drawstring bag.
“This new collaboration with Moods of Norway dovetails wonderfully with our global strategy for the Popeye brand,” says Cathleen Titus, vice president, international licensing, King Features. “We are thrilled to discover such a dynamic fashion brand in the Nordics and are very happy to be partnering with Moods.”
The Popeye-themed fashion collection is now available in 20 Moods locations plus Brandstad in Norway. It is also available through the Moods of Norway e-commerce site.
“The Popeye brand is so much fun. This happy, super strong sailor from 1929 has in some way or another seduced us all,” says Simen Staalnacke, co-founder, Moods of Norway. “The colors, the drawings, the energy and everything else – it all fits so nicely in with the Moods of Norway universe. It has been an honor to get to play with all the drawings of the character, and it has been so, so much fun seeing the final products in store.”
