Türk Telekom, Marvel Characters B.V. and Paimotion Entertainment have signed a deal to bring super hero and villain characters to Turkey in an extensive licensing program.
Sobee, Türk Telekom's gaming company, will translate the Marvel kids' Web site into Turkish, develop and release animated shorts, as well as Flash-games. The company will also incorporate Marvel's super heroes into its current game line, including I Can Football and Super Can Oyun. Other Marvel products will include an animated TV series distributed on mobile phone and the Internet, as well as the opening of Marvel mini-stores, featuring Marvel merchandise at Türk Telecom's stores and Web sites.
"These agreements are an important component of our strategy to significantly expand our presence worldwide and further maximize the potential of the Marvel brand on a global level," says Simon Philips, president of worldwide consumer products for Marvel Entertainment. "We are excited to be working with Turkey's leading telecom and gaming companies and look forward to the introduction of these exciting products to Turkish consumers."
Marvel Entertainment is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company.
