memBrain Licensing has teamed up with Evy of California to create a fashion collection featuring art brand Emily the Strange, with a special line of girl’s apparel created exclusively for Target.

"This new collection with Evy of California marks the beginning of a very exciting new chapter in our adventures with Emily the Strange," says Rob Reger, creator, Emily the Strange. "Emily will always maintain her ‘be yourself’ persona, and we know that tween girl fans will be very excited to see this new collection at their favorite retailer later this month."

The Emily the Strange Girls for Target collection will include a line of graphic tees available Sunday. Each t-shirt will feature an Emily the Strange pin and a hangtag that reads "Be Yourself."

"Today's youth understands the difference between authentically cool brands and brands that try to be cool," says Kevin Krieser, president and chief operations officer, Evy of California. "Emily the Strange is an iconic brand that brings street credibility to girl’s fashion with a sassy heroine, cute cats and attitude for girls seeking alternatives to the traditional pink palette."

Emily the Strange, which was created by artist Rob Reger and his design studio Cosmic Debris in 1993, marks its 20th birthday this year. Emily the Strange licensed products are sold in more than 50 countries worldwide and include a video game, iPhone app, series of tween novels from HarperCollins, stickers, clothing, stationary, fashion accessories, electronics and toys.
