Developed under license from Penguin Ventures, on behalf of Peter Rabbit brand owners Frederick Warne & Co., the collection of hand-drawn illustrations and story-telling prints is witnessed across bags, clothing, home and children. The collection continues to showcase the brand’s dedication to its ‘Cath Cares’ initiative with organic cotton being utilized for tea towels and aprons.
“It is a joy to design the Beatrix Potter collection; to tell these beautiful stories through print is a real pleasure,” says Holly Marler, creative director, Cath Kidston. “It reminds me of my childhood and when my children were small. Cath Kidston’s print design team were inspired by Beatrix Potter's life as an artist, scientist, painter and author. Each print embraces Beatrix Potter’s sketches from the classic story, originally drawn in letters to her friend and former governesses’ young son, plus other characters and stories, including “The Tailor of Gloucester” and “The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck.”
Mr. McGregor’s garden comes to life with hand-drawn botanicals and vegetables, woven among
s illustrated characters. Hidden notes of Cath Kidston’s own print heritage, such as a newly drawn take on the archive mushroom can also be found.
