Round 2 to Create Star Trek Model Kit Line

Last month's release of Star Trek will be the basis for the latest model kit line from Round 2, according to CBS Consumer Products.

The likeness of the U.S.S. Enterprise from the Paramount Pictures film will be the first kit available in the second half of 2010. Round 2 has previously released Star Trek-inspired kits under its AMT and Polar Lights brands. Both brands also have upcoming product releases, including Mr. Spock (October 2009), Vulcan Shuttle (December 2009) and others.

"For decades Star Trek has proven itself to be a strong property worldwide," says Tom Lowe, owner and president of Round 2. "We are confident that we will create and bring to the retail market high-quality collectibles that all Star Trek fans will appreciate. We are very excited to be a part of the Star Trek product line based on the new film."
