Licensing Expo Virtual 2021 Reveals Licensing U Content and Agenda

The Licensing U Agenda for the 2021 Licensing Expo Virtual digital event is designed for all attendees wanting to expand their expertise – early bird passes end this Friday, July 23.

Licensing Expo Virtual, in partnership with industry trade association Licensing International, has announced the first wave of speakers confirmed as part of Licensing U program offered at the event’s 2021 edition, taking place Aug. 24-26 in a virtual format.

Celebrating 40 years of connecting IP owners with retailers, manufacturers and licensees, Licensing Expo Virtual will feature the most robust educational agenda to date strategically designed to fuel the $292.8 billion global licensing industry.

Licensing U is a Licensing Expo staple produced by Licensing International. This year’s educational offering will span three tracks offering everything from the basics of licensing to insight into the topics and trends impacting the brand licensing universe. Topics range from the “Basics of International Licensing” and “What You Need to Know About Royalty Rates” to “What Makes a Good Collaboration?”

Licensing U is made up of three content tracks:

  1. Basics of Licensing: Designed for licensing newcomers and those interested in learning more about the industry, Licensing U’s "Basics" track offers an introduction to how the licensing business works; contracts and other legal basics; royalty rates, style guides, retail development and more;

  2. Spotlights: Licensing professionals are invited to take a deeper dive into key industry segments with Licensing U’s Spotlights. The sessions will focus on specific areas such as art & design, corporate brands, sports, entertainment and location-based entertainment; and

  3. Tactics and Strategies: Aimed at the more seasoned licensing professionals, Licensing U’s “Tactics to Strategies” track offers more advanced sessions and will tackle some of the latest topics and trends impacting today’s licensing industry, including collaborations, NFTs and more.
