The Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) have announced that the London Underground tube strikes have been called off on Wednesday, Oct. 4 and Friday, Oct. 6. All service is expected to resume as normal throughout London.
Given the late timing of this decision, BLE organizers have confirmed that the announced measures will remain in place to accommodate the adjusted meeting times. The event hours will remain:
Wednesday, Oct. 4: Show open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. − An optional hour for meetings between 5pm and 6pm.
Thursday, Oct. 5: Show open from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. − Optional additional hours between 8am and 9 a.m. and between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. for meetings.
Friday, Oct. 6: Show open from 9 a.m..-3 p.m.
The two drinks receptions, taking place on the BLE show floor between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on both Oct. 4 and Oct. 5, will also remain in place. The receptions are free for all attendees and exhibitors.
The U.K. National Rail strikes are still scheduled to go ahead on Wednesday, Oct. 4 so please plan your journey if you are travelling into London for Brand Licensing Europe, however there are no planned disruptions on Thursday, Oct. 5 and Friday, Oct. 6.
“We are delighted with this latest development and look forward to welcoming everyone to BLE tomorrow for what is preparing to be a successful event!” Says Anna Knight, senior vice president, licensing, Informa Markets. “Exhibitors are putting the final touches on their stands, the show floor is looking great and we are excited to share that the event can resume with minimal disruption.”
