Scent Theory and Crayola Launch Hand Soap Collection
Scents are inspired by Crayola colors.
Scent Theory, a manufacturer of fragranced personal care products, and Crayola have combined their expertise in scent and color to launch a new line of hand soaps. The collaboration has developed Crayola Scent of Color, a rainbow of seven hand soaps.
“At Scent Theory, our mission is to create transportive everyday moments,” says Amy Alperin, head, product development, Scent Theory. “We’re thrilled about this collaboration with Crayola, a brand synonymous with creativity and color. We know that people often associate fragrance with color, so through our scented hand soaps consumers can embark on a colorful journey and experience the world around them in vibrant scented hues.”
Based on consumer insights, certain colors have been identified to correspond with specific aromas. Using this theory, the Scent of Color line infuses scents inspired by Crayola colors into the soaps:
Sunset Orange: oranges and vanilla
Cherry Red: cherries and tonka bean
Purple Heart: purple plums and candied violets
Caribbean Green: palm leaf and beach wood
Cerulean Blue: ocean air and blue skies
Laser Lemon: lemonade and sunshine
Carnation Pink: fresh flowers and berries
“We all typically think of color as a visual experience; however, our collaboration with Scent Theory takes that sensory connection to another creative dimension so consumers can experience smelling in color for an everyday task,” says Warren Schorr, senior vice president, business development, global licensing and experiences, Crayola.
The Scent of Color hand soap collection is now available at Walmart and Walmart.com.
Crayola will be at Licensing Expo, taking place from June 13-15 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
