Mindy McKnight, better known as Cute Girl Hairstyles on YouTube, has launched a haircare product line at Walmart.
Ten years of posting YouTube videos of hairstyles on her six children has allowed her channel to garner more than 5.6 subscribers and more than two billion views.
The line features 16 products inclusive of multiple hair types and textures. It includes two shampoos, three conditioners, two leave-in conditioners, six styling products along with a hair mask, a hair rinse and a hair oil. Each color-coded bottle retails for less than $8.
“We all have very visceral reactions to hair stories,” McKnight told People. “We all have these moments where we can think of our moms doing our hair, whether it was a bad perm when we were teenagers, a bad haircut, or we went to prom and loved our updo. We have all these touch points to our hair. Hair for me tells a lot about a culture.”
Each product is color-safe, vegan and cruelty free. The products are also free of sulfates, phthalates, parabens, silicone and mineral oil.
“I want to leave the world a better place for my kids than was maybe handed down to my generation,” says McKnight.
Hairitage is available on Walmart.com, and will be available at Walmart stores nationwide by the end of the month.
