The Natural History Museum has joined forces with sustainable flower delivery company Arena Flowers to develop a unique floral bouquet that has been inspired by the Museum’s mineral collection.

“We are delighted to be working with the team at Arena Flowers, who ensure that sustainability is at the heart of everything they do,” says Maxine Lister, head, licensing, Natural History Museum. “It has been a real pleasure exploring the Museum’s stunning mineral collection to bring this idea to life.”

“This is a hugely exciting collaboration between Arena Flowers and the Natural History Museum,” says Asta Foufas, head, product development, Arena Online Ltd. “The values of protecting and preserving the planet, and limiting our impact on it, are at the very heart of both organizations. We’ve been hugely inspired by The Museum’s stunning collection of minerals and it’s been a joy to replicate some of these in a bouquet.”

Inspiration for the bouquet, named ‘Gemmae’, comes from a selection of the 5,000 gemstones that form part of the Museum’s comprehensive mineral collection, which also includes meteorites, rocks and ores. It features seven blooms representing seven unique gemstones, inspired by historical artworks from the Museum’s archives.

From the vibrant pinks of tourmaline, represented by the ‘Country Blues’ rose, to the watery blue/greens of Aquamarine, mirrored by the pale blue delphiniums, the ‘Gemmae’ bouquet features exquisite and unique stems, each resembling a mineral of dazzling beauty.
