Boyhood, a Danish design company established in Aarhus, Denmark, is partnering with the Playmobil brand owned by Geobra Brandstätter Stiftung & Co. KG, Zirndorf/Germany.

“As a boy growing up in the ’80s and ’90s, Playmobil has been a huge part of my life, and I have spent thousands of hours playing in the fantastic universe of Playmobil,” says Jakob Burgsø, founder, designer, Boyhood. “Signing up this partnership has been a walk down memory lane for me; over and over again I became nostalgic. The design process when designing the characters has brought me back to my childhood of good memories, the DNA of Boyhood brand. To be allowed to make these fantastic figures and add them to our Boyhood universe is a huge honor for me, and I am sure we have created a masterpiece of craftmanship that will become a design icon, of an already iconic and worldwide admired figure. Especially the iconic Playmobil hair has been difficult to make in wood, but the result is no less than fantastic, and proof of what we are capable of designing and creating.”
