Artestar Announces New Artists and New Collaboration
Charley Harper added to portfolio.
Artestar has announced the addition of renowned American illustrator, Charley Harper, to its portfolio of artists. Harper’s artworks exude a playful and earnest perspective on the animal kingdom and an alternative way of looking at nature and its myriad creatures and habitats. A conservationist as well as an artist, Harper reveals the whimsical aspects of his wildlife subjects though his work, a “minimal realism,” which he developed with bold, graphic compositions. Harper’s work splits into bold colors, simple shapes and elegant compositions and is available for licensing in all categories.
Artestar has also partnered Gucci with 1980s artist, Patrick Nagel, with artworks to amplify the company’s pre-fall 2023 collection. Nagel’s minimalist style defined an era with cool, seductive women. Today, his design sensibility continues to resonate with young designers, illustrators and artists. The romantically inspired pre-fall collection is characterized by its loose silhouettes.
Sally Hansen’s latest Miracle Gel Nail Polish Collection features the 1980s pop colors of artist, Keith Haring. The summer 2023 collection is a tribute to Haring, featuring fun packaging and bright colors inspired by Haring’s artworks.
Artestar has also helped Roland Herlory, chief executive officer, Vilebrequin, tap artist, Kenny Scharf, for his latest swim collection.
“Bringing art to the beach has always been the dream,” says Herlory. “We do not consider what we do to be art; we’re more focused on reproducing artists’ work as closely as possible to the original. Kenny Scharf’s youthful universe flows seamlessly into Vilebrequin’s playful DNA in this fluid collection, which includes unisex swim trunks and shirts, beach towels and a kids’ swimsuit. Kenny Scharf loves the beach and loved working on this project. And his fanslove hitting the waves with Kenny as they get into this truly trippy collection."
