The National Trust and Aardman Animations have launched a campaign fronted by Wallace & Gromit as part of the U.K.’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, taking place this year to mark The Queen’s 60 years of reign.

A weekend of 70 Jubilee events will be held across the country at National Trust historic buildings and gardens. A new bespoke mini Wallace & Gromit animation will debut at the events, which will also feature Wallace & Gromit model-making workshops with expert Aardman model-makers, themed trails, games for children and themed retail and catering treats.

In addition, a one-minute animation and behind-the-scenes film has been specially created for the National Trust festivities.

“I have to pinch myself when I think how far Wallace & Gromit have come; from ideas in my head, to ‘film stars’ working with great organizations such as the National Trust, which the nation holds dear to its heart,” says Nick Park, creator of Wallace & Gromit. “At Aardman we are thrilled that Wallace & Gromit have had a chance to explore all the Trust has to offer–from helping to put up bunting to enjoying their Wensleydale cheese platter at a picnic. Wallace & Gromit are in for a cracking summer at the National Trust.”
