In her new position position, Philbin will oversee all communications activities for Universal Sports, including managing the PR strategy for the network’s original shows, distribution, social media, live events and year-round coverage of Olympic-related sports. She will report to Allyson Davis, vice president of marketing.

“We are thrilled to welcome Catherine to the Universal Sports team," says Davis. "She has a wealth of experience promoting various facets of the sports and television industries, which is a tremendous asset as we expand our network distribution and diversify the reach of our world-class sports content across multiple platforms.”

Philbin brings more than 15 years of communications and marketing experience to Universal Sports. Most recently, she served as public relations director for FremantleMedia Enterprises.

Her sports industry background includes stints at Major League Soccer overseeing corporate communications, in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ publicity and media relations department, and with sports and lifestyle PR firm Taylor Communications.
