Target Entertainment Group has appointed The Revolution as the African sub-agent for the PlayStation brand and selected PlayStation software IPs. The deal covers the Republic of South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya, Seychelles, Comores, Mauritius, Mozambique, Swaziland and Botswana.

The Revolution will manage a merchandise program spanning all consumer product categories, excluding PlayStation peripherals and PlayStation-specific accessories for LittleBigPlanet, God of War, Ratchet and Clank, Wipeout, EyePet and Invizimals.

"PlayStation is an integral part of youth and the young-at-heart culture, which makes up one of today's most important consumer segments," says Alan Radmall, chief executive officer of The Revolution. "When the release of a new game in Europe can, in a week, generate more revenue than a leading movie in two months, we must acknowledge the impact PlayStation can have in the market. We will soon be presenting the licensing opportunities to Southern African retailers and manufacturers and helping them develop licensing strategies that will help increase their sales and add value to their consumer offer."
