Cartoon Network Enterprises has signed Random House to publish a complete line of books inspired by newest action-adventure series "Generator Rex."

The Generator Rex books will begin hitting shelves in summer 2011. The initial line will include a Step Into Reading leveled reader and a deluxe 3-D storybook. Additional readers, storybooks and activity books will release later.

"Generator Rex is driven by action-packed storytelling and strong characters that excite fans and leave them wanting more," says Christina Miller, senior vice president of CNE. "Random House, and the publishing category as a whole, are key components to further expanding the Generator Rex universe into an immersive world that tells Rex's story off screen in a fun and engaging way."

Random House joins a number of other licensees in the Generator Rex program, which include Mattel (global master toy), Hallmark, Hybrid Apparel and DC Comics. The publisher also has partnerships with CNE's Ben 10 and Bakugan properties.
