Platinum Films has launched the first phase of its new interactive Matt Hatter Chronicles website, marking the next chapter in the brand’s digital expansion.

The new site is a virtual destination for fans of the CGI-animated series featuring games, activities, downloads, collectibles, gossip and information on the series’ characters.

The second phase of the site will include Multivision 3D animated clips that allow kids to transform their computer into a 3D viewing portal with the help of Multivision Glasses.

“This launch represents the first phase of a website specifically designed for the enjoyment of Matt Hatter fans,” says Nigel Stone, chief executive officer, Platinum Films. “We want it to be immersive, inspiring and fully interactive so kids can feel part of Matt’s world and experience what it might be like to be their hero Matt Hatter.”

“Matt Hatter Chronicles” launched on the U.K’s ITV in March, with season two premiering this month. The series also airs in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland, Canada and in several Arabic territories.

Global licensing partners for the brand include Penguin (publishing), Topps (augmented trading cards and collectibles) and Titan (print and digital comics), with a global toy partner soon to be announced. Initial product roll out is planned for the first quarter of 2013.

ITV Studios Global Entertainment represents the brand for merchandising, publishing, promotional and home entertainment in the U.K., Eire, Australia and New Zealand.
