German broadcaster Ki.Ka has picked up the first 28 episodes of Nelvana Enterprises' new animated series "Babar and the Adventures of Badou." It is set to debut in the country in spring 2011.

The CGI series is also set to hit other territories soon, including Canada's YTV (November), France's TF1, Japan's Playhouse Disney, Italy's and Spain's Disney Channel, Australia's ABC TV, Norway's TV2, Finland's YLE 2, Denmark's DR TV, Thai PBS, French Canada's SRC and South Africa's M-Net.

"Babar and the Adventures of Badou" is an update of the classic "Babar" series, which follows King Babar's 8-year-old grandson Badou and his friends, Chiku the monkey and Zawadi the zebra. It's aimed at kids ages 4 to 7 and is a co-production from Nelvana Studio and TeamTO, in association with The Clifford Ross Company.
