Endemol announced its Asian operation has inked its first Indonesian deal for Big Brother.
Leading broadcaster PT Televisi Transformasi Indonesia (Trans TV) has commissioned a locally produced, prime time series of Big Brother. The series will be produced in house by the network and air next month.
This is the third deal for Big Borther in the region. Big Brother made its Asian debut in Thailand, and has successfully aired in India and the Philippines. Further deals are expected to be announced in due course.
Arjen van Mierlo, Endemol’s chief executive officer of Asian operations says: “Big Brother continues to be a world beating phenomenon more than a decade after its launch. There is a strong appetite in Asia for reality entertainment and Big Brother can deliver must see TV that will have viewers hooked. We’re proud to be bringing the format to Indonesia for the first time and excited about the show’s launch on Trans TV.”
