DreamWorks Animation is in talks to buy Classic Media, according to
The New York Times
(referencing an anonymous source close to the deal).
The animation studio has reportedly offered $150 million, much more than other bidders have offered up.
The Classic Media portfolio includes Casper the Friendly Ghost, Where’s Waldo, Lassie, The Lone Ranger and He-Man. Classic Media also owns Big Idea Entertainment, producer of VeggieTales.
Neither company has made official comments about deal.
