G-III Apparel Group, Major League Baseball Properties and Iconix Brand Group are planning to revive the classic Starter satin jacket franchise featuring all 30 MLB teams.

The jacket, made famous in the 1980's, is set to return to retail this fall during back-to-school season.

Marketing and advertising efforts will be led by Iconix Brand Group, owner of the Starter brand, and Carl Banks, former NY Giants player and president of G-III Sports, a division of G-III Apparel.

"Baseball and Starter go hand-in-hand. It's the ultimate expression of team pride," says Banks. "Although the satin jacket hasn't been produced for over a decade, it's still worn at ballparks across the country to this day. We look forward to re-introducing the iconic Starter satin jacket for baseball fans of all generations."

The jackets are set to retail at $150.

"As a retro look, the Starter jacket is one of the more iconic items in fashionable sportswear and we are excited to work with G-III Apparel Group and Iconix to revive this classic look," says Howard Smith, senior vice president, licensing, MLB. "We expect fans to enthusiastically support this re-launch this fall."

The jackets could make an appearance a little sooner than that though–this Saturday, the partners plan to hold an invite-only event for media, athletes, celebrities and industry tastemakers where 150 limited edition MLB All-Star jackets will be gifted to attendees.
