Authentic Brands Group, a global brand development, marketing and entertainment company, and Electric Visual Evolution, a leading distributor of quality eyewear and snow goggles, have announced a global partnership for Volcom. Through the agreement, Electric will design, develop, produce and distribute eyewear and snow goggles for the lifestyle brand.
“Electric has been a market leader of active eyewear for two decades,” says Eric Crane, chief executive officer, Electric. “We are taking our unique learnings and expanding our business model to support multiple brands, price points and consumer interests in the ever-changing landscape of active and fashion eyewear. Our background, expertise and networks are perfectly suited to usher Volcom’s strong consumer brand into the eyewear space.”
Electric’s products are distributed worldwide through specialty retailers, lifestyle chains, distributors and resorts, as well as third party and direct-to- consumer ecommerce.
ABG’s portfolio of brands generates $9.8 billion in annual retail sales and includes Nautica, Aéropostale, Juicy Couture, Airwalk and Volcom.
“Volcom is a leading contemporary brand in surf, skate and snowboarding; as an active lifestyle brand, it is perfectly positioned to extend into eyewear across a variety of categories,” says Jarrod Weber, group president, lifestyle, Authentic Brands Group. “We are particularly excited to watch Volcom pioneer it’s brand values into ski and snow goggles. This is a perfect fit for the brand and great opportunity for brand followers to expand their relationship with Volcom.”
