U.K. Toy Sales Up in 2015
Research and global information company The NPD Group has released its latest report on year-to-date sales (January 2015 through Dec. 6) for the U.K. and the findings are positive–retail sales of toys and games are up 4.8 percent over 2014.

NPD reports that retail sales of toys and games are up nearly 5 percent in Britain.
Research and global information company The NPD Group has released its latest report on year-to-date sales (January 2015 through Dec. 6) for the U.K. and the findings are positive–retail sales of toys and games are up 4.8 percent over 2014.
NPD’s research shows that categories action figures and accessories, plush and building sets showed the most growth in 2015, up 19 percent, 13 percent and 12 percent, respectively.
“2015 has been a strong year for the British toy market to-date, and the NPD group expects the year to finish up 5 percent after a similar increase in 2014,” says Frederique Tutt, global toy industry analyst, The NPD Group. “Branded and licensed toys with traditional play patterns have been the key drivers behind the market performance, with collectible toys topping the charts.”
NPD also released its list of the top 10 best-selling toys for the U.K. that highlights licensed toys as a top earner.
