HBO Max officially has a release date. The subscription streaming service will debut on May 27.

The service, which boasts more than 10,000 hours of content, will debut on May 27 in the U.S. and will cost $14.99 per month, the same as HBO Now. The service will include all of HBO’s programming as well as a slate of new original series. Third-party licensed content, such as “South Park,” “The Big Bang Theory,” “Friends” and all of the Studio Ghibli films will also be available on the new platform. Movies like “Suicide Squad,” “Wonder Woman,” “The Matrix,” “Casablanca,” “The Wizard of Oz” and “Joker” will also be available on the service.

In addition, HBO Max will include content from other WarnerMedia brands including CNN, TNT, truTV, TBS, Cartoon Network, Crunchyroll, Turner Classic Movies, Adult Swim, Rooster Teeth and Looney Tunes.

“Our No. 1 goal is having extraordinary content for everyone in the family, and the HBO Max programming mix we are so excited to unveil on May 27 will bear that out,” Bob Greenblatt, chairman, WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-to-Consumer, said via statement. “Even in the midst of this unprecedented pandemic, the all-star teams behind every aspect of HBO Max will deliver a platform and a robust slate of content that is varied, of the highest quality, and second to none.”

To lead-up to HBO Max’s launch, WarnerMedia dropped around 500 hours of free HBO content in the U.S., which will be available through April 30. Ten original series including “Veep,” “Barry,” “Big Little Lies” and “Silicon Valley” are included in the lineup.
