HBO Max Gains 3M Subscribers in Q1

The streaming service has gained 3M subscribers during the first quarter of 2021.

As of the end of March, HBO Max/HBO has a combined 44.2 million subscribers, with 3 million gained for HBO Max in the first quarter of 2021.

“HBO Max continued to deliver strong subscriber and revenue growth in advance of our international and AVOD launches planned for June,” John Stankey, chief executive officer, AT&T told Variety.

WarnerMedia’s direct-to-consumer subscription revenue for Q1 was $1.8 billion versus $1.3 billion in 2020 during the same period, up around 35 percent year over year.
