LPGA Teams for Stores in South Korea

The Ladies Professional Golf Association has entered a new licensing partnership with MK Trend to build its retail presence in South Korea.

The Ladies Professional Golf Association has entered a new licensing partnership with MK Trend to build its retail presence in South Korea.

The agreement gives MK Trend exclusive rights to the official LPGA logo for seven years, during which time it will launch a new line of branded golf apparel and accessories. First product in the line will launch for the 2016 fall/winter season.

MK Trend is also planning to open 10 LPGA shop-in-shops in Korea by the end of 2016 and a number of standalone locations in 2017. By the end of 2020, MK Trend hopes to have opened a combined 105 LPGA retail locations.

“We are so excited to partner with a leader in the fashion industry like MK Trend,” says Anne McCarthy, director, licensing and merchandising, LPGA. “From their fashion forward looks to their experience in launching lines for other prominent sports organizations like the NBA, MK Trend is a perfect fit to launch this new LPGA golf apparel line.”
