WHP Global, the parent company of Toys“R”Us, has announced a partnership with travel retailer, Duty Free Americas, to open the first Toys“R”Us airport store at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).
The Toys“R”Us store will be located in Terminal A and is slated to open in time for holiday season 2023.
“We are excited that WHP Global selected us to introduce a new retail concept to the travel industry,” says Jerome Falic, chief executive officer, Duty Free Americas. “Toys“R”Us is a globally recognized brand beloved by millions of families, and we are confident that the store at DFW will become a must-visit destination for travelers.”
A life-size custom 3D sculpture of Geoffrey the Giraffe and a curated selection of toys and games with demonstration tables for hands-on play and iconic brand elements throughout the store will welcome travelers visiting the store.
“We are thrilled to partner with Duty Free Americas to introduce the first-ever Toys“R”Us airport store, an exciting new concept that we believe could roll out in airports around the world,” says Yehuda Shmidman, chairman and chief executive officer, WHP Global.
Since its acquisition by WHP Global in 2021, Toys“R”Us has experienced significant growth doubling its footprint by 50% in 2022 with the national rollout in the U.S. at all Macy’s stores. The momentum continues this year with recent launches in India, the U.K. and Mexico.
Further details on the opening date for the Toys“R”Us airport store at DFW will follow.
