First location is slated to open in Shenyang, China next summer.

National Geographic has partnered with iP2Entertainment to develop a series of indoor, interactive family entertainment centers worldwide.

Each branded entertainment center will offer a variety of themed attractions, interactive demonstrations and hands-on workshops in an immersive environment that is aimed to ignite children’s curious about the world.

The two companies have partnered with K11 to develop the first location in Shenyang, China. The new branded center will be located in the Shenyang K11 Art Mall and is slated to open next summer.

Meanwhile, a second branded center is also in development in China on the island of Hengqin.

Additional locations will be announced at a later date.

“The National Geographic-branded entertainment centers that we’re developing will provide parents and their children with a fun and interactive way to learn about animals, science and exploration by engaging with our award-winning content,” says Andy Reif, executive vice president, consumer products, licensing and global experiences, National Geographic. “We’re excited to partner with iP2Entertainment, who is a proven leader in this space and truly excels in creating fun experiences for families that they will want to revisit again and again.”

A portion of the proceeds from the National Geographic entertainment centers will support the National Geographic Society’s non-profit work in conservation, exploration, research and education.
