"Wonder Pets!" Creator Launches Little Airplane Books

Little Airplane Productions, creator of preschool TV shows "Wonder Pets!" and "3^rd & Bird!," has created a new publishing division.

Tone Thyne as been pegged as head writer for Little Airplane Books, which will target preschoolers and early readers.

"We will be writing, designing and binding all of our books in our South Street Seaport studio [in N.Y.] using our own creative team," says Josh Selig, founder and president of Little Airplane Productions. "This philosophy of making everything under one roof has worked for our television shows and I believe it will work for our children's books. We are committed to bringing high-quality craftsmanship back into the lives of children."

An official launch of the publishing initiative will take place at a special children's reading event at Little Airplane Studios with actress Marcia Gay Harden on Dec. 18 in New York City.

New York City's Little Airplane Productions is also creator of "Go, Baby!" on Playhouse Disney and "Oobi!" on Noggin. This fall, the company announced the launch of another division, Little Airplane Films.
