PetSmart to Debut Animal Planet-Branded Pet Products

Retailer PetSmart is the exclusive launch partner for a line of Animal Planet-branded pet products by Jakks Pacific, according to Discovery Communications. The line of toys and more is expected to roll out the first week of May during National Pet Week.

The pet products will include toys, apparel, accessories and beds for dogs and cats. Additional items by Jakks Pacific are in development, including chews and edible environments.

"With PetSmart as our exclusive retail partner, the new line from Jakks will expand Animal Planet further into the pet care arena," says Debra Joester, president and chief executive officer of the Joester Loria Group, which brokered the deal. "Our goal is to create a truly integrated experience for both Animal Planet fans and pet owners."

A portion of the proceeds from the Jakks Pacific Animal Planet products will benefit the principal partners of R.O.A.R.
