VIMN to Launch Comedy Central in Asia

Viacom International Media Networks plans to launch the first Asian 24-hr comedy channel, Comedy Central Asia, in seven territories across the continent on Nov. 1.

Comedy Central Asia will air on nine providers in Singapore, the Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Mongolia, with Thailand beginning transmission on Dec. 1.

The programming line-up will include “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” “South Park,” “Workaholics,” “The Sarah Silverman Program” and Charlie Sheen’s latest comedy series “Anger Management” (exclusive to Comedy Central Asia), as well as classic titles such as “Just for Laughs” and “Mind Your Language.”
