SMC Entertainment Group has been named as the North American Licensing Agent for the children’s book series Ladybug Girl.
Targeting consumer products for girls from preschool to 6-year-old, SMC plansto develop licensing and merchandising campaigns across multiple categories for the Ladybug Girl brand including dolls, plush, games, puzzles, apps, party goods, back-to-school, apparel, footwear, sleepwear, swimwear, accessories, arts and crafts, home furnishings, bedding, Halloween and more.
“The Ladybug Girl stories encourage girls to be adventurous and inquisitive, and Lulu has become a sort of superhero to young girls, empowering them with the knowledge that they are not ‘too little’ to make a difference,” says Lisa Streff, senior vice president, licensing, SMC. “These stories really resonate with young readers and their parents, and the licensing opportunities seem nearly limitless.”
Ladybug Girl games, activities and printables are already available at LadybugGirl.com.
The New York Times best-selling Ladybug Girl series came onto the children’s book scene in 2009. A new picture book, Ladybug Girl and Bingo, was released in May. Penguin’s National Booksellers program will feature Ladybug Girl as its official character for encouraging kids to get outside and enjoy the summer this July during the official Ladybug Girl Month.
SMC will be presenting Ladybug Girl in Booth 3268 at the Licensing Expo, June 12-14 in Las Vegas, Nev.
