Matt Brown was recently appointed to senior vice president of Scholastic, as well as president of its Klutz division, which creates kids' activity products.

Brown was co-founder of Boing, where he launched branded platforms that encourage developmentally rich play experiences. He has worked with a number of partners, including Coca-Cola, Playskool, Disney, Toys"R"Us and Nickelodeon. Prior to that he worked at Leap Frog, where he co-founded and led the company's Internet division.

"Matt's unique talents combine business acumen with an impressive history of kid-centered creativity," says Ellie Berger, president of the trade publishing division of Scholastic. "Matt's contagious sense of fun and depth of experience developing and building brands in the children's market make him perfectly suited to lead Klutz into the future."

Brown will assume his new responsibilities on Sept. 7 and will report to Berger.
