Macy’s Names Chief Marketing Officer

Richard Lennox, an industry veteran with a record of elevating consumer and retailing brands, has joined Macy’s as its chief marketing officer, effective Sept. 15.

Richard Lennox, an industry veteran with a record of elevating consumer and retailing brands, has joined Macy’s as its chief marketing officer, effective Sept. 15.

In his new role, Lennox will be responsible for Macy’s omni-channel market presence and strategy including brand, promotional, store, digital and events marketing activity.

Before joining Macy’s, Lennox served as senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Toys ‘R’ Us since 2014. During his tenure, he was responsible for all components of marketing strategy for the company’s brands. He also led the creation of the Toys ‘R’ Us “awesome” brand position and marketing campaigns.

Lennox has also held key executive positions with Zales and J. Walter Thompson.
