First video in new online series features a retail-focused session with executives from Hot Topic, Target.
License! Global has launched a first-of-its-kind video series featuring select sessions from the sold out NYC Licensing Summit, which took place March 1 and 2 in New York City's Financial District.
"We are so pleased to be able to offer access to this exclusive content to executives and professionals who weren't able to attend the inaugural NYC Licensing Summit last month," says Tony Lisanti, global editorial director, License! Global. "It really was a not-to-be-missed event, and this way no one has to."
Summit attendees will receive free access to all the videos in the series. Everyone else will have the option to buy individual sessions for $59 or a monthly subscription that offers unlimited access to all released videos for $129 a month.
The first video to be made available is "The Retail Forum" featuring Cindy Levitt of Hot Topic and a joint Q&A session with Gaye Dean of Target. Levitt discusses how Hot Topic evolved from a niche, punk rock retailer into one of the largest purveyors of pop culture merch in the U.S. and outlines 10 ways for brands to build strong retail partnerships. Then she and Dean discuss how they decide which brands to promote in stores and how brands help them stand out in the competitive retail landscape.
The NYC Licensing Summit Video Series is being sponsored by Licensing Expo, which will take place June 21-23 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Other sessions that will join the series in the coming weeks include:
"Sports Licensing: Building a Global Business" with executives from the NBA, NFL and NFLPI;
"Franchise Development: How Hasbro Leverages its Brand Stories and Characters" with Simon Waters of Hasbro;
"The Hybrid Model: How Global Brands Group Acts as Licensor, Licensee and Agent" with Dow Famulak of GBG;
"The Wall Street Viewpoint: Why Brands are Critical to Retailers and Consumers" with Eric Beder of Wunderlich Securities followed by a Q&A with Yehuda Shmidman of Sequential Brands Group;
The inaugural NYC Licensing Summit was developed by License! Global magazine in conjunction with its parent company UBM Americas and the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association.
