NORTH AMERICA–PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay division is planning the first-ever restaurant based on its snack brand Cheetos in New York City.
Called the The Spotted Cheetah, the restaurant will feature a Cheetos-inspired menu specially crafted by chef Anne Burrell–known for her work at Phil & Anne’s Good Time Lounge and two cookbooks Cook Like a Rockstar and Own Your Kitchen. The menu includes 11 different dishes showcasing popular Cheetos flavors like Cheesy, Flamin’ Hot, Flamin’ Hot Limón, Flamin’ Hot Chipotle Ranch, White Cheddar, Cheddar Jalapeño and Sweetos.
The Spotted Cheetah will be open by reservation only, Aug. 15-17, at 211 W. Broadway in New York City.
Highlights from the three-course menu include: Cheetos crusted fried pickles and creamy ranch, Cheetos meatballs, Cheetos grilled cheese and tomato soup, Cheetos Mix-Ups crusted chicken Milanese, spicy Cheetos nachos, Flamin’ Hot Limón chicken tacos, Cheetos Sweetos crusted cheesecake and Cheetos Sweetos sweet and salty cookies.
The Cheetos-inspired recipes will also be available via TheSpottedCheetah.com, beginning Aug. 15.
“Once again, our fans have inspired us with their creativity and playfulness. We’ve seen their love for Cheetos exhibited through innovative dishes, desserts and beverages, which motivated us to create a restaurant that would bring a full Cheetos culinary experience to life,” says Ryan Matiyow, senior director, marketing, Frito-Lay. “The Spotted Cheetah is a fun and delicious way for Cheetos to celebrate a variety of favorite flavors in an upscale and playful culinary setting that will wow our guests.”
