NBA, NFL Join NYC Licensing Summit

Executives from leading sports leagues to discuss how are building global business.

Representatives from two major sports leagues have joined the roster of speakers for the inaugural Business of Brand Licensing conference in New York City, March 1 and 2, announced Tony Lisanti, global editorial director of License! Global magazine. 

Sal Larocca, president of global operations and merchandising of the National Basketball Association and Steve Scebelo, vice president of licensing and business development of the National Football League Players Inc. (the licensing arm of the NFL Players Association) will participate in a special session titled "Sports Licensing: Building a Global Business."

The session, which will take place at 10:45 a.m. on the second day of the event, will be moderated by Marty Brochstein, senior vice president of industry relations and information, Internationl Licensing Industry Merchandisers Association.

Larocca and Scebelo will be part of a robust slate of licensing industry leaders partipating in the event including Gaye Dean of Target Stores, Benjamin Grubbs of YouTube, Simon Waters of Hasbro, Debra Joester of the Joester Loria Group, Dow Famulak of Global Brands Group, Jim Fielding of DreamWorks, Henry Stupp of Cherokee Global Brands Group and many more.
