OiDroids takes home the top prize at the annual competition for promising new brands.

OiDroids was named the winner of the License This! competition for new creative concepts at Brand Licensing Europe Thursday as the trade show rounded out its 17th year.

Presented by Jonathan Klemenz, OiDroids are pop-out and build collectible cardboard robot toys. Aimed at the pocket money sector, each robot features quirky details and unique personalities.

The brand beat out three other finalists–Natu Natu, "Victoria Spunge" and Wussywat–to take home an expanded prize package valued at more than £6,000. The prize package includes a fully furnished stand for BLE 2016 to bring OiDroids to market along with LIMA membership for one year and one ticket to the LIMA Licensing Essentials Course & Spring Fling Networking Party in May 2016.

“I’m so excited to have won again such strong competition, and am looking forward to bringing the property to Brand Licensing Europe 2016,” says Klemenz.

This year's judging panel was led by Kelvyn Gardner, managing director, LIMA U.K. and also included Charlie Donaldson, joint managing director, Rocket Licensing; Tom Gunn, international brand director EMEA, MTV Networks, and Wendy Munt, managing director, Be Inspired Consulting.

The runners-up include:

  • Natu Natu, presented by Fran Bravo: An eco-friendly, cross-media project that features small, fantastic creatures and aims to help promote a more ecological way of life.

  • "Victoria Spunge," presented by Stuart Simpson: An animation series in development about the sweet, smart Victoria Spunge and her visits to her Grandpa, the eccentric inventor, Albert Custard.

  • Wussywat, presented by Simon Quinn and Simon Rolph: "Wussywat the Clumsy Cat" is a 2D animation series for 3- to 5-year-olds currently airing on CBeebies, about a curious and clumsy cat, discovering the world with his other animal friends.
