The Ashmolean has unveiled a range of new additions with its licensing partner, Surface View. Inspired by the Japanese art of Kinpaku (gold leaf), the range reflects the natural beauty of Japan using imagery from silk panels, gold leaf screens and delicate textiles.
“Our partnership with Surface View has been running for more than eight years, and we are delighted with the refresh,” says Declan McCarthy, head, publishing and licensing, The Ashmolean.
Founded in 1683, the Ashmolean in Oxford, England, is the world’s first public museum and houses over a million objects, ranging from Egyptian mummies to contemporary art, telling human stories across cultures and across time.
Surface View combines technology and imagination to create bespoke printed wall coverings, wall art and window treatments.
